An AI agent that
stakes TAO for you.
Agent staking turns Bittensor portfolio management into a hands-off operation. An LLM-driven agent reads on-chain data, ranks subnets, and checks your stake every 4 hours while you keep custody of every satoshi of TAO.

What is agent staking?
Agent staking is an automated staking strategy in which an AI agent continuously manages a crypto portfolio on the user's behalf. Instead of picking a single validator and leaving the position there, the agent watches the universe of available validators and subnets, scores them, and re-allocates capital where the risk-adjusted yield is highest.
On Bittensor, this matters more than on most chains. The network is split into 100+ dynamic subnets (dTAO), each with its own emission curve, alpha token and liquidity pool. A subnet that pays 25% APY today can drift to 5% next week as validators register, take rates change, and alpha price reprices. Static delegation leaves yield on the table.
An agent solves this by closing the loop: read state, decide, execute, observe, repeat. Stakao's implementation runs that loop every 4 hours, under explicit safety constraints, against a non-custodial wallet you control.
Six pillars of an autonomous staking agent
LLM reasoning loop
Stakao’s custom tool-calling harness on an OpenAI-compatible LLM plans, calls tools, and produces a structured allocation plan every cycle.
Quant momentum signals
A 4-pillar momentum index (price, flow, volume, sentiment) feeds the agent hard quantitative scores for every subnet, refreshed hourly.
Real-time context
The agent searches the open web for subnet news, validator changes and team announcements via Desearch, then weighs them against the quant signals.
Non-custodial by construction
Funds stay in your Bittensor wallet. The agent acts through a ProxyType.Staking permission that can only stake or unstake — never transfer.
Hard safety constraints
Every plan must satisfy min 40% invested, max 75% invested, max 20% per subnet, and min 50 TAO/day liquidity. Plans that violate constraints are rejected, not negotiated.
Auditable decisions
Every rebalance is stored with the agent's reasoning, the prompts used, and the resulting transaction hashes. You see why the agent did what it did.
Agent, quant, or Smart DCA?
Stakao runs three strategies side by side. The AI Agent is the most adaptive of the three; it's the right choice when you want the system to react to qualitative context, not just price action.
| Dimension | AI Agent | Quant Core | Smart DCA |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decision engine | LLM + quant + web search | Pure momentum index | Time-based averaging |
| Rebalances | Every 4 hours | Every 4 hours | On schedule |
| Reads news | Yes | No | No |
| Best for | Hands-off, all-in TAO holders | Systematic momentum exposure | Slow, low-stress accumulation |
| Plan | Premium | Premium | Free |
Stakao is also usable by autonomous agents.
Humans activate strategies through the app. External AI agents can discover the same strategy catalog, pay with x402 USDC, and request informational allocation analysis outputs without activating on-chain staking.
Machine-readable catalog
Agents can read the public catalog, OpenAPI contract, llms.txt, skills, and MCP tools before paying.

Connect your Bittensor wallet, sign a staking-only proxy, and let the AI Agent take care of subnet selection and validator rebalancing. €19/month — cancel anytime.
Agent decisions are produced by a large language model and may be wrong. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Stakao is non-custodial; the agent can only stake and unstake, never transfer. No financial or investment advice.
